Perhaps I was born drawing. I know it has sustained me for my whole life. In grade school I got in trouble for drawing in class but then taken out of class to make posters for the school! My maps and illustrations helped me get grades in high school.
I majored in art at FSU but had to go to work before getting a degree. After several years working in the Orlando Sentinel Art Department I headed for Chicago. There I built a successful graphic design service that I ran for 20 years.
I computerized my business but still specialized in line illustration and logo design. Returning to Janet_Asbury_Artist_Watercolor_Orlando_Floridato Central Florida to be near family, I created designs and illustrations for local businesses and some Chicago clients. Then came a job designing for a local magazine publisher. I worked in their art department for 12 years designing ads, maps, newsletters, trade show booths, sales support, etc.
I am proficient with Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and enjoy digitizing logos and spot art on my Mac.
With a rich background in illustration and design I have moved back into my home studio and added watercolor to my art arsenal. I am the newsletter editor for the Central Florida Watercolor Society and a member of the Florida Watercolor Society and the Artist Registry. Please enjoy my samples.
